    Tulemar Gardens is a private property that sits on 33-acres of tropical rainforest that extends from the Manuel Antonio National Park. The gardens feature two trails, the north, and the south trails. We offer guided walking tours or take a leisurely walk in the lush jungle trails on your own. The Gardens extend down to our very own private award-winning beach.

    Wildlife at your Doorstep

    At any given time at Tulemar Resort, expect to see incredible wildlife. We’re a major stop on the monkey highway through the jungle where three of Costa Rica’s four native monkey species are often swinging through the treetops. Look out for other creatures like macaws, pelicans, opossums, porcupines, armadillos, tamanduas, bats, and (of course) sloths.

    Exclusive Tulemar Beach

    Follow the trails of Tulemar Gardens down to the award-winning Tulemar Beach, the only exclusive beach in Manuel Antonio. Go for a swim and enjoy drinks and food from the full-service bar right on the beach. We provide everything you need at the beach including towels, chairs, and water sports equipment. The privacy helps it feel like your very own piece of paradise and named by guests as the reason to return again and again. Tulemar Beach has been awarded Blue Flag status multiple times over the years. This means that tourists can trust the beach is clean and safe for tourists and is monitored monthly by a board of Costa Rican officials.

    Sloth Institute Onsite

    Since 2015, the Tulemar Resort Hotel has worked in collaboration with The Sloth Institute of Costa Rica helping to ensure the continued health of these unique and rare animals. Tulemar Gardens and the maritime zone offer the perfect environment to introduce sloths as the resort sits in a large parcel of the jungle including the adjacent maritime zone, containing an abundant source of excellent food choices, a significant wild sloth population, the absence of dangerous electrical wires, and a strict “no dogs and cats” policy. Take the Sloth Walk available daily with one of their research assistants to observe sloths in their natural habitat, exclusively for our guests!
